How many creatures are there living and reproducing in the vast expanse of the universe, following the law of life over and over, adhering to one constant rule. Those who die take with them the stories of the living, and those who are living repeat the same tragic history of those who have died. And so mankind can’t help but ask itself: Why do we live? And why do we have to die? Who is in command of this world? And who created this mankind? Was mankind really created by Mother Nature? Is mankind really in control of its own fate? … Mankind does not know who is the Sovereign of all things in the universe, much less does he know the beginning and future of mankind. Mankind merely lives, perforce, amidst this law. None can escape it and none can change it, for among all things and in the heavens there is but One from everlasting to everlasting who holds sovereignty over everything. He is the One who has never been beheld by man, the One whom mankind has never known, in whose existence mankind has never believed, yet He is the One who breathed the breath into mankind’s ancestors and gave life to mankind. He is the One who supplies and nourishes mankind for its existence, and guides mankind up to the present day.

My work is about to be complete. The many years we have spent together have become unbearable memories of the past. I have continued to repeat My words and have not stopped progressing in My new work. Of course, My advice is a necessary component in each piece of work that I do. Without My counsel, you will all go astray and be even more at a loss. My work is now about to finish and come to an end; I still want to do some work in providing counsel, that is, to offer some words of advice for you to listen to. I only hope you will not waste My painstaking efforts and moreover, that you can understand all the care and thought I have expended, treating My words as the foundation of how you behave as a human being. Whether it be words you are willing to listen to or not, whether it be words you enjoy accepting or accept uncomfortably, you must take them seriously. Otherwise, your casual and unconcerned dispositions and demeanors will really upset Me and, even more, disgust Me. I very much hope that all of you can read My words over and over again—thousands of times—and even know them by heart. Only that way can you not fail My expectations of you. However, none of you are living like this now. On the contrary, all of you are immersed in a debauched life of eating and drinking your fill, and none of you use My words to enrich your hearts and souls. This is the reason I have concluded that mankind’s true face is one that will always betray Me and no one can be absolutely faithful to My words.

Snowflakes began to flutter down at dusk. Standing in the balcony and looking out of the window, I recalled a series of scenes where the Lord Jesus together with His disciples came back to Nazareth. He looked at the innumerable people with a smile and passersby also greeted Him. It seemed that they were very familiar to Him. However, when the Lord Jesus bore testimony to Himself as the Messiah, people, choked with anger, attacked and reviled Him. Just as it is recorded in the Scripture: “And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath, And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him to the brow of the hill where on their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong” (Luk4:28-29).

Outside the window, it snowed more heavily. Soon, everything became white. But I wasn’t in the mood to appreciate the snow scenery outside the window, but was thinking: When the Lord Jesus preached the gospel of the Kingdom in other places, there were many believers following Him. But when He returned to His hometown and preached, why did the fellow townsmen forsake Him and even want to push Him off a cliff instead of welcoming Him?

Rainbow Covenant: Know God’s Love and Selflessness

As I looked outside the car window, I saw a rainbow appeared in the sky. It had just rained. This reminded me of the story of the great flood during Noah’s time that destroyed the earth, and that God used a rainbow to establish His covenant with man.

In Genesis 6:13, God said, “The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.” When I first read this verse, all I knew was that during Noah’s time, people were sinful, sexually immoral and corrupted, so God had to destroy the earth through a great flood. However, only Noah worshiped God, his family of eight built the ark according to God’s instruction and eventually survived the great flood. Later, I read God’s words in Genesis 9:11-13, “And I will establish my covenant with you, neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth. And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.” I was puzzled and wondered why the rainbow was used as a sign of covenant and what the intention was behind this covenant between God and man. One day, I read two paragraphs from a book that touched my heart, which gave me more revelation regarding why God used the rainbow to establish His covenant with man.
